In conjunction with the exhibition "Blooming: The Art of Gardens in East and West", HKMoA has invited Professor Greg M. Thomas from the Department of Art History at The University of Hong Kong, to lead us on a journey through the imperial gardens of China and Europe, for a cross-cultural dialogue between East and West.
Drawing on selected works from the exhibition, from garden design and botanical collecting to decorative arts, Professor Thomas will decode how Chinese gardens influenced the cultural DNA of European royal gardens
